The 8 Days Rwanda Primates & Wildlife Safari takes you to Nyungwe Forest National Park, Lake Kivu and Volcanoes National Park where you will experience remarkable Gorilla Trekking, Chimpanzee Tracking, and Beach Experiences.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival-Pick Up

After arrival at the airport you will be picked up by a skilled tour representative who will transfer you to your preferred hotel in Kigali. Here you will have dinner and overnight till the next day.

Day 2: City tour-Nyungwe Forest National Park

Wake up early in the morning take breakfast then embark on your journey to Nyungwe forest National Park with an en-route visit to Nyanza King’s palace, Murambi Memorial and Butare Museum. After your visit, proceed for lunch then later transfer to Nyungwe Forest where you will reach in the evening and go straight to your lodge/ hotel for dinner and overnight. Canopy Walks NyungweDay 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe

Wake up early in the morning have breakfast then transfer to the park’s headquarters to be briefed about the Dos and Don’ts around the chimpanzees then later after, you will proceed into the forest to track the rare chimpanzee which you will spot eating, conjugating, socializing, breast feeding and playing with in the trees. En-route, you will spot other primates i.e Black and white Colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys. After, proceed to your lodge/ hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 4: Canopy-Nature walks

Wake up in the morning have breakfast then later transfer to experience your canopy walk at the top of the gigantic tree tops in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Beneath the canopy lies a very sharp valley with rocks and this experience is very terrifying though worthwhile to all. Along the walk, you will spot and enjoy beautiful views of the vegetation terrain, golden monkeys, birds like the Rwenzori Turaco, Hornbills etc. After the canopy walk, break off for lunch then later transfer for an afternoon guided walk. Day 5: Transfer-Lake Kivu

Wake up early in the morning have breakfast then later embark on a journey to Lake Kivu with stunning views of Virunga Mountains, green vegetation en-route. You will break off for lunch then later proceed to Lake Kivu where you will have an afternoon boat cruise on which you will watch numerous brilliant bird species and vegetation at a distance. After the cruise, transfer to your lodge/ hotel for dinner and overnight. Malachite hotel.

Day 6: Transfer-Volcanoes Np-Twin lakes

Wake up in the morning have breakfast then later on transfer Volcanoes National park to track the rare species of Mountain Gorillas in the forest. After a while, you will reach Ruhengeri where you will leave to go visit the Twin lakes of Rubondo and Bulera. After the visit, proceed to your hotel for your dinner and overnight. La Palme Hotel.

 Day 7: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes Np

Wake up early in the morning have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the  Dos and Don’ts around the Mountain Gorillas. You will track these for a period of 2-4 hours depending on the current location of the Gorillas in groups of 8. A period of 1 hour will be allowed to interact with the Gorillas then after, you will return back to your lodge/ hotel for dinner and overnight. La Palme Hotel.

 Day 8: Transfer to the Airport

Wake up take breakfast then transfer to Kigali with an en-route stop to visit the prominent Nyamata and Ntarama Genocide memorials.After here, you will transfer to the airport to board your flight back home or to your hotel/ lodge for relaxation.
