6 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek & Chimpanzee Safari
The 6 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek & Chimpanzee Safari gives you an opportunity to track the rare species of Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park and Chimpanzees of Nyungwe Forest National park on Gorilla Safaris in Rwanda.
On the 6 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trek & Chimpanzee Safari, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park to track Mountain Gorillas, Nyungwe Forest National Park to track the Chimpanzees and enjoy a Canopy Walk as you traverse from one point to another on top of the Gigantic Trees.
Day 1: Arrival-Nyungwe Forest National Park
On arrival at thee kigali International Airport, you will be picked up by our driver / guide who will transfer you to Nyungwe Forest National Park with an en-route stop at the Nyanza King’s Palace Museum then later, you will reach the stunning Nyungwe Forest. When you get here, you will transfer straight to your lodge/ hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury), Nyungwe Hill Top view (Deluxe) or Gisakura Guest House (Budget).Meal plan here is F/B
Wake up very early in the morning have breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters to be briefed about the Dos and Don’ts around the Chimpanzees. After briefing, you will proceed to penetrate the forest to track the Chimpanzees for a period of 3-5 hours. After tracking, break off for lunch then proceed to experience your canopy walk which will give you remarkable views at the Golden monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Red tailed monkeys and grey checked mangabeys, Black and White colobus monkeys as well as various species of birds. After, retire for dinner and overnight at your lodge. Meal plan is F/B
Day 3: Transfer-Kibuye & boat to Gisenyi
Breakfast, transfer to Kibuye for Boat cruising to Gisenyi, Visit some beautiful islands on the Lake Kivu, enjoy the view of the beautiful lake and take photographs, return for dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel (Luxury) or Paradise Malahide Hotel[budget] or Stipp Hotel [mid range]on the shores of Lake Kivu. Meal Plan F/B basis.
Day 4: Morning Biking-Transfer Volcanoes National Park
Wake up very early in the morning and have breakfast then go for biking along Lake Kivu which is over 35 km for about 3 hours and then afterwards return for lunch at your hotel. From here in the evening embark on the long drive to Musanze district in Ruhengeri. Check in for dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Le Bombou Gorilla Lodge (mid range) or Kinigi Guest House (Budget)
Day 5: Gorilla Tracking-Volcanoes National Park
Wake up very early in the morning have breakfast then transfer to the park offices for briefing and distribution into groups of 8 individuals. You will penetrate into the forest in company of a skilled ranger guide to track the Mountain Gorillas for a period of 3-5 hours and when you meet them, you will stay in their presence for 1 hour taking Photos. After the experience, return to the hotel/ lodge for lunch and some relaxation then late in the afternoon you will transfer to the lake to explore the beautiful caves around the lake. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Dian Fossey tombs tour
After breakfast, you will go to tour the tombs of the great lover of Gorillas (Dian Fossey), read more about her achievements towards the preservation of Gorillas. Other optional activities include golden monkey tracking, adventurous trek to Mt. Bisoke / Bisoke or Musanze caves exploration. Return to your lodge for lunch and leave for Kigali for a city tour, visit the Gisozi genocide memorial site, local art & craft shops, do last minute shopping before heading to the airport for your departure flight and this will mark the end of the safari.
