Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Cruise
Day 3: Game Drive-Departure
Meet and greet and thereafter transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have lunch in Masindi. Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest national park protects a chunk of untamed African Savannah bisected by the mighty river Nile. It has been named for the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Uganda Wildlife populations have largely recovered from the poaching of the 1980s. In the lush borassus grassland to the north of the Nile, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and a variety of antelope are regularly encountered on game drives, while lion are seen with increasing frequency.
After an early breakfast, you will cross with the early morning ferry to the northern bank where you will begin an exciting game drive through the lush borassus grassland as you look out for elephants, buffalos, giraffes, antelope and many other animals. Thereafter, you will cross the Nile back to the Camp for lunch. After lunch, you will have a launch trip to the bottom of the falls. You have chances of seeing many other animals and birds along the banks as you sail towards the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls. The River Nile itself hosts one of Africa’s densest hippo and crocodile populations; add to that a dazzling variety of waterbirds including the world’s most accessible wild population of the rare shoebill stork. As you reach the bottom of the falls, you will be mesmerized by the sight of the water exploding violently through a narrow cleft and plunging into the frothing pool below.
