Then head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a Uganda wildlife safari searching for wild game and finding the time to relax and breathe the African air.

Detailed Itinerary of 9 Days Uganda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Entebbe – Shoebill Tracking
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for check in and short rest. In the afternoon you will head to Mabamba Swamps to meet the prehistoric shoebill bird.

Day 2: Fly to Kisoro
After breakfast, you will be drive to Entebbe International Airport to catch an early morning domestic flight to Kisoro to start your Uganda gorillas and wildlife safaris. The flight is one hour, flying over Lake Victoria, the central plains and into the rolling hills of the southwest region with cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest, bamboo forest and the majestic chain of the Virunga Volcanoes.
You will be picked up by our guide and transfer you to the lodge for check in and relaxation.
In the afternoon, you can walk the Batwa Forest Trail in Buniga Forest where you will interact with the Batwa People showcasing their ancient cultural tales, hunting and survival skills on the trail.
Alternatively, you can go for a guided walking tour in Kisoro Town or canoeing excursion on Lake Mutanda, and nature hike through communities and cultivated garden trails.

Day 3: Gorilla Trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and right way to behave while in the presence of the gorillas. With your packed lunch and gears, head into the emerald green undergrowth looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Once you located the gorilla family, you will spend one precious hour observing the gorillas groom each other, feed, play and mothers attending to their children under a watchful gaze of a silverback.
You will be out of the forest by 2:00pm and get back to your lodge for an evening of rest and dinner.

Day 4: Walking Safari Across Bwindi
After breakfast, you will get on the trail about 8:30 am after a short briefing with your walking safari guide at the lodge. You must hit the trail in the early morning hours so that the intense afternoon sunrays find you under the jungle canopy.
The two trails meet somewhere in the jungle and meander down to Buhoma town, you will have to select one. The longer one takes about six plus meanders along the Kashasha river and over several ridges. The shorter one starts at Kashasha River, down Nteko Valley, and meanders along Ivy River. You must drive about 15 kilometers at Nteko Village to start the Ivy River Trail. However, both trails deliver the same kind of adventure for intrepid travelers.

Day 5: Optional Activities
On this day, we allow you to pick something you can do that matches your physical ability and interest, considering you tracked gorillas the previous day.
Some travelers prefer trekking gorillas for a second time. Besides, it is a different trekking sector, a different experience. Yes, it is possible. But you must have booked your trekking permit before the beginning of the trip.
The second option is to visit the Batwa Forest people on their time-lapse cultural trail. Check out the medicine man, and dance to their ancient tunes. From the trail, you can walk through local markets or check out some rural development.

Day 6: Buhoma to Queen Elizabeth via Ishasha
After breakfast, leave the mist forests of Bwindi and drive down the rift valley to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will drive through the Ishasha Sector, home to the tree-climbing lions. You may see these giants lounging in fig tree branches if you are lucky.
As you head to your lodge, you could encounter savannah favorites like antelope species, elephants, and buffalo and may be an occasional leopard.

Day 7-8: Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari
Spend these two days exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park and its savannah plains on game drives. Along the Kasenyi tracks, you may spot lions, cape buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, mongoose, kobs, and with much, the sneak leopard is often spotted.
In the afternoon you will go for a Kazinga Channel boat safari trip that sets off at 14:00. On this excursion you will catch sight of herds of buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and large hippos pods. Keep an eye out for the enormous water monitor lizard, which is common in the riverine scrub, as well as crocodiles.

Day 9: Fly Mweya Airport to Entebbe
After breakfast, proceed to Mweya Peninsular for scheduled flight to Entebbe and connect for your international flight back home, bringing your safari to an end.
