This tour is packed with stunning road trips, mesmerising wildlife, a calming boat cruise on Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and a once in a lifetime encounter with mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Meeting mountain gorillas is not for faint-hearted, it takes two to six-hour hike into the rainforest jungle of Bwindi, following the footsteps of your machete-sweeping guide. But once there, you will surely fall in love with these intimidating but gentle giants.

Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Uganda Safari: Wildlife & Double Gorilla Trekking

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, the gateway to Uganda, the pearl of Africa. Meet our representative and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a delicious breakfast, checkout of the lodge and embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a journey of approximately seven hours and as you travel through the heart of the country, you enjoy breathtaking views of the unique countryside. You pass by sprawling tea plantations, picturesque lakes and traditional villages.

Arrive in the park in time for lunch, check in at your lodge for your meals and in the afternoon go for a game drive. Later return for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Boat Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early for breakfast, then head to Kasenyi Area of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a morning game drive. This region is a bleeding ground for Uganda kobs which attract predators, so be on a lookout for lions, leopards, hyenas and other animals including buffaloes, elephants and several colourful bird species.

Return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, had to Kazinga Channel for a boat safari lasting 2-3 hours. The Kazinga Channel of Queen Elizabeth National Park stretches 40 kilometers long, linking Lake George to Lake Edward. Keep a keen eye out at all times, as you may spot hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of other animals. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Enjoy a leisure breakfast, then embark on a 5-6 hour drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha Sector where you can get to see the rare tree climbing lions – if you are lucky. Observe the landscape gradually transforming from open savannah plains to thick and lush green forests.

Day 5: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters in Buhoma Sector for briefing about gorilla trekking. The Buhoma Sector, located in the northern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the largest gorilla trekking sector and has been the pioneer of gorilla trekking in Uganda since 1993.

In groups of 8 people you will be assigned one of the habituated gorilla families, then head into the emerald forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. You are allowed to spend only one hour in the presence of these gentle giants, observing their family dynamics and take amazing pictures and videos. Trek back to your lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Departure

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, check out of the lodge and embark on a journey back to Kampala with en-route in Mbarara and a stop at the Equator for pictures. You will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport for your international flight back home or to your next destination.
